Houston Celebrates 2018 Africa Day

The City of Houston celebrated 2nd anniversary of Africa Day at Houston City Hall on Friday, May 25th. Mayor Sylvester Turner delivered the key note speech and issued a proclamation declaring May 25, 2018 as Africa Day in Houston Texas. The event was well attended by Houston City council members, Members of Houston’s Consular Core, Amanda Edwards (Houston City Councilwoman), African community leaders, etc. People from various African countries such as Nigeria, Benin, Ghana, Liberia, Congo, Ethiopia, Egypt, Cameroon, Tanzania were in attendance. Igwe Cultural Entertainment delivered an outstanding performance to the delight of the audience.
